About Room to Read

I have started this blog in order to create a lil more awareness about this organisation that I personally truly believe in. It is not a charity, it doesn't feed hungry kids for a day, it doesn't clothe them for a season and forget about them. This is one organisation that changes the lives of kids forever. Providing education by building libraries, schools and computer labs too. As the Bible says Give a man Fish and you feed him for a day but you teach him how to fish you feed them for life. This is what education does to these kids. Families have a better life when the mother is educated, the vicious cycle of poverty and ignorance can only be broken through education.

Room to Read partners with local communities throughout the developing world to establish schools, libraries, and other educational infrastructure. It seeks to intervene early in the lives of children in the belief that education is a lifelong gift that empowers people to ultimately improve socioeconomic conditions for their families, communities, countries, and future generations. Through the opportunities that only an education can provide, we strive to break the cycle of poverty, one child at a time.

Founder and CEO is John Wood, who launched Room to Read after a trek through Nepal.
This community is in no way associated with the organisation but is just a way to promote its message.

If you believe in their cause please do join in to contribute ideas, organise drives and any other way to help the millions of children in need.
